Portable Operation
I operate pedestrian mobile on UHF while walking Bella. An experienced also bolstered by being in operating distance of an Allstar node that helps me get into GB3BN when my battery is low or the interference on the input frequency is high that day.
I've had one experience operating HF with my friend Colin M0XCA using his super Xiegu X6100 and my portable MyDEL JPC-12; and I also tried an IC-705 and a 9:1 End fed wire antenna but that didn't do so well. The antenna looked great on an analyser but the SWR was horrendous when it came to transmit.
Now the weather is looking up, I am hoping to try out a new little TruSDX+ HF radio and the JPC-12.
